I am always on the lookout for new things to do and enjoy working on side projects

Here are some of my favorite past experiments and collaborations

Supreme species simulator

SPECULATIVE DESIGN

Fueled by my interest in AI, I participated in the 2023 D&S Summer School on "Para-Intelligence" with a group of amazing individuals in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where we devised this idea.

The idea of intelligence that prevails today often emphasizes rationality and efficiency, overlooking the importance of emotional intelligence and empathy. However, it is through emotional intelligence and the ability to empathize with other beings that we can develop social skills and establish meaningful connections. The concept of educational LARP (Live Action Role Playing) has inspired a project that aims to cultivate hope, empathy, and understanding of the interrelations between species such as Mycelium, Japanese knotweed, and Tesla through first-person experiences. The idea is to embody the other beings that we often disregard and objectify and, in doing so, gain a better understanding of their complexities and forms of intelligence.

Supreme Species Simulator is an immersive game experience of the future where empathy is considered a valuable form of intelligence. The characters in our game are the ghosts of an ecological future. They are not modern-day heroes who compete and surpass others but collaborate with one another. They are writing the silent stories of our existence. Although their interconnectedness and collective intelligence may seem insignificant in the present time, they may hold greater significance in the future.

Monocafé Backpack

PRODUCT DESIGN

Monocafé Skimboards is a Costa Rican company that designs and builds handmade skimboards and balance boards. As part of their participation in FID 4 (International Design Festival in Costa Rica), Monocafé designed balance boards as a gift for the speakers.

I collaborated with Monocafé by designing a tailored backpack for their balance boards based on the team's needs and following their branding guidelines.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Technology evolves rapidly every day, making our lives easier and more practical but also leaving behind physical artifacts. This photographic experimental essay captures some objects that have now transitioned to the digital or virtual world. They have become a type of memory, and their physicality and tangibility may be unknown to future generations..

AYO

PRODUCT DESIGN

On the university campus, daily repairs are necessary, and maintenance employees need to move quickly around the campus while carrying equipment and spare parts. Therefore, this project aimed to design a prototype of a zero-emissions electric mobility system that fulfills the transportation needs of the maintenance workers.
